Biography
Raised in Mobile, Alabama, in a household where music was not a hobby but a calling, Keirstan — known professionally as The Kiy (pronounced "key") — grew up surrounded by generational gifting on every side. Her grandfather, a pastor, played guitar by ear. Her grandmother played piano and led worship. Her stepfather sang and served as minister of music, directing choirs and touring nationally with the well-known gospel group Charity. Her mother sang, played piano, composed, and wrote music — pouring that same gift into every one of her children. In her household, music was the language everybody spoke.
She began singing and dancing at age 8, honing both crafts simultaneously through church stages, advanced choir, show choir, and competitive dance throughout her school years. What started as an inheritance became a discipline — and eventually, a calling entirely her own.
Drawing from R&B, pop, soul, and the gospel foundation she was raised on, The Kiy has grown into one of the Southeast's most compelling alternative Pop R&B voices. She writes. She produces. She choreographs. She directs. Every performance is a full experience — not just a set, but a story.
Now operating fully under her own creative house, Ki Kreative Movement LLC, The Kiy is not emerging — she is returning. New music is on the way, and it sounds like everything she was always meant to say.
